HPLC vs. mass spectrometry for peptide testing
A certificate can report a very high chromatographic purity and still lack persuasive identity evidence. Method names matter because each measurement has limits.
HPLC separates a mixture
A chromatogram can estimate how much of the detected material appears in the main peak under stated conditions. It does not, by itself, prove what molecule made that peak.
Mass spectrometry supports identity
Mass spectrometry compares measured mass information with the expected compound. Interpretation still depends on sample preparation, instrument settings and the stated method.
Method details control interpretation
A useful peptide COA identifies the instrument or procedure, sample preparation, units, acceptance criteria and limitations. Method acronyms without results or conditions provide little traceability.

Does a 99% HPLC result prove a peptide is sterile?
No. Chromatographic purity and sterility are different tests.
