How to get peptides legally in Canada and the United States
There is no universal legal route for “peptides” as a category. The lawful path depends on the named compound, intended use, product claim and jurisdiction.
Authorized medicines use regulated channels
Approved peptide medicines are accessed through the prescription and pharmacy rules that apply locally. Approval is product- and indication-specific; it does not extend automatically to a compounded or research-labelled version.
Trials and special access have defined purposes
Clinical trials and formal special-access programs are controlled pathways, not general shopping alternatives. Health Canada states that its Special Access Program is not meant to promote early use, conduct research or bypass review.
Research labels do not create a loophole
Health Canada warns that “For Research Use Only” wording does not make unauthorized injectable peptide drugs legal or exempt from regulatory requirements. Verify current rules before importing, selling or using any product.
