GHK-Cu peptide guide: skincare evidence and product claims
GHK-Cu is a copper complex of a three-amino-acid peptide used in cosmetic research and products. Laboratory and preclinical findings are broader than the limited body of well-controlled clinical evidence.
Topical evidence is formulation-specific
A peptide must remain stable and reach the relevant skin layer to have an effect. Reviews identify permeability, formulation and limited clinical studies as important gaps, so ingredient-level claims should remain modest.
Cosmetic and injectable claims are not interchangeable
Evidence about a topical cosmetic cannot be transferred to an injectable product. Health Canada specifically lists unauthorized injectable GHK-Cu among products associated with serious uncertainty and risk.
Read the finished-product label
Check the ingredient list, concentration if disclosed, directions, warnings, manufacturer and jurisdiction-specific cosmetic status. A raw-material COA does not demonstrate the finished product’s clinical performance.
